WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT

Guiding You On the Path of Self-Healing

HELLO!
Welcome to your new beginning. My motto for therapy is evolve or repeat. Before you begin your journey, let me tell you a little about myself.
I consider myself to be a warm and genuine person. While I promise to hold your hand through your therapy journey, I also promise you that I will speak the truth to you and address where you may be repeating old habits. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them become successful in relationships, work, and a better understanding of self. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness techniques, certified breathwork teacher, treatment of intense trauma, and am a Certified First Responder Counselor.

I encourage all of my clients to view my professional Facebook page @MelissaMManenteLPC, as well as my professional Instagram page @Melissa_Manentelpc where I post interesting articles, encouraging sayings, and updates regarding my office.

Services I Provide

Individual Therapy

I offer a cogitive behavioral/rational emotive approach focusing on having the individual learn how faulty thinking can impact their daily lives. This faulty thinking can consume us and make us stuck in deciding situations in our lives.  We often get into a faulty thinking pattern that can render us helpless.

Young Adult Mental Health

Working with young female adults is one of my passions.  I believe transitioning into adulthood as a female can be difficult.  My goal is to help them understand the root of what's troubling them and make positive changes in their lives.  I also explore how society can put demands on young adults, and it is difficult to get out of the faulty thinking to decide what you want.

Mindfulness Therapy

I believe becoming mindful is an integral part of development in therapy.  I try to use mindful techniques in all therapy sessions to help one become more grounded and aware of themselves and their environment.  I believe mindfulness can help fulfill a person by learning to " just be here."  We are so focused on what is next we neglect the right now.

Certified First Responder Counseling

I am trained to understand responders' needs, including the importance of confidentiality and trust.  I am certified as a CFRC, where I am specialty-trained in the unique culture of First Responders and Law Enforcement Officers.  This certification needs to be recertified every year with additional training courses.

Women's Mental Health

One of the areas I am most passionate about is women's mental health. Navigating through womanhood can be challenging, and my goal is to help make it easier to navigate. My goal is to help women understand their bodies, what they go through during their lives, and how those changes impact mental health.

Therapist to New Therapists

After supervision - then what? So many emotions arise during those first few years of being a therapist. I enjoy working with new therapists to explore all those emotions, feelings, thoughts, and countertransferences that may arise in your new role. While I am not a certified supervisor, I can help aid you in your new career journey.

Yin Yoga Certified Teacher

Yin Yoga is a relatively recent format of yoga that focuses on harmony between opposing forces. Ying yoga is  The Yin and The Yang of life, the good and the bad, the light and the dark, the open and the closed, the quiet and the loud. I believe this is in an intricate part of therapy and one's growth in therapy.

Certified Breathwork Teacher

Breathwork is a term for various breathing practices in which the conscious control of breathing is said to influence a person's mental, emotional, or physical state, with a therapeutic effect
